💙 BUNGENDORE'S SECOND FREE MORNING TEA FOR PEOPLE WITH DEMENTIA & CARERS WILL BE HELD IN CONJUNCTION WITH A FREE LEGAL CLINIC 💙
Following a successful morning tea held on 17 February 2025, the Lions Club of Bungendore and Districts and the Bungendore Dementia Friendly Community Alliance are hosting free monthly morning teas on the third Monday of each month at 10:00 AM for people with dementia and their carers. These events provide an opportunity to connect, share experiences, and enjoy a welcoming and supportive environment.
FEJ Law is proud to support those living with dementia and their loved ones by offering a FREE Dementia-Friendly Legal Clinic at this coming Monday’s morning tea.
🔹 When? Monday, 17 March 2025, 10:00 AM
🔹 Where? Bungendore School of Arts
🔹 Who is this for? People living with dementia, their families, carers, and others interested in learning more
At this clinic, Saara Bowen from FEJ Law will be available for one-on-one meetings with those attendees who wish to seek legal assistance. Saara will seek to:
✅ Answer general legal questions related to dementia and elder law
✅ Assist with forms and navigating government services
✅ Provide guidance on wills, enduring powers of attorney, guardianship, and estate planning
✅ Offer general advice on social security law, retirement planning, and other legal matters affecting people with dementia, their carers, or loved ones
✅ Provide warm referrals to additional support services
This first clinic is a trial and a learning experience for us all. Through your participation, we hope to gain first-hand insight into the legal concerns faced by people living with dementia, their carers, and their loved ones. We aim to ensure that legal advice and assistance are provided in a way that is accessible, practical, and truly meets the needs of the community. Rather than relying on assumptions, we want to build this clinic based on your real-world experiences and feedback.
FEJ Law is currently considering holding this free legal clinic monthly. If the morning tea hosted by the Lions Club of Bungendore and Districts and the Bungendore Dementia Friendly Community Alliance proves to be a suitable and effective setting for people living with dementia to seek and receive legal assistance, it is likely we will continue to hold the clinic in conjunction with this event on an ongoing basis.
Your input is invaluable. Whether you attend for legal advice, to ask questions, or simply to share your experiences, your feedback will help shape a legal clinic that truly serves the community.
💡 People from Bungendore and surrounding regions are welcome to attend.
This is a safe, informal, and friendly space to explore the legal questions that matter to you. No need to book—just drop in for a chat while you enjoy your cuppa!
