Ask these three 3 simple questions to write better copy -

1. Who is the ideal client/target audience? Know who you are talking to. Speak to that person direct. Know who they are and communicate in a way that will engage with where they are at.

2. What is the message? What is the core message and what is the purpose of the copy? Am I trying to convince, educate, nurture, build trust, promote etc. Whatever your message is, make it clear, keep it simple, be consistent.

3. What action do I want the reader to take? Is it stopping the scroll, opening an email, clicking a link, subscribing, or sharing? Have a specific call-to-action, make it obvious!!!

Tip | Ask better questions, you’ll get better results.

My content marketing process always starts with questions. I love questions cause they lead me to answers.

They start the communication flow and that’s what we are experts at - Communicating to the right person, the right message, in the right tone, at the right time, delivering a right result.

Three simple but vital questions.

1. Who is your ideal buyer or client? (Repeatedly asking until I have a clear understanding, and I can visualise them in my head)

2. How does your product or service help them? (Gotta be a simple solution to a real problem or need they have)

3. Why would they choose you or your product over others? (You gotta know the value you offer)

These three questions shape the identity of the messages and the marketing comms we create - in whatever form they take.

How to write more effective real estate copy - three 3 simple questions I ask to craft better Ads

1. Who is the buyer??? You need to have a clear idea of who you believe the property is perfectly suited to, the pricepoint, the location, the floorplan etc. Have a specific target buyer in mind.

2. What are the highlight features??? Never focus on anything negative. Leave it out. Ask, what can we feature in this property - every home has a feature that will be desired by a specific buyer. Even if it's a knockdown, that buyer is gonna love knocking it down and building something fresh.

3. What are the benefits??? A feature is just a feature, but its the benefit to the buyer that will will hook them in and make them emotionally engage. So, the benefit of buying a knockdown is "Build your brand new dream home" they are buying a clean slate to form their future on, (not a falling down home).

Is perfectionism holding you back?

Over the years, it certainly has done for me.

Creatives can easily be stifled by perfectionism, not publishing work until they believe it to be flawless…

Our work is an expression of ourselves, and the fear of it not being liked once published can be paralysing.

We ideate, create, edit, refine, craft, refine, edit, and finally produce. Hoping it's not less than stellar.

Inspired by , this idea has once again set me free to focus on the doing, the action. Repeating the process over and over and over and over again.

And in the repetition,
- creativity is refined,
- skills are developed,
- processes are automated,
- more effective work is produced,

(Even if it’s s**t to start with) in the long run the work gets better and better and so do we.

When it comes to content marketing, I'm prioritising reps over perfection.

The more, the more.

Another way to say it is - Practice makes perfect.
